AbstractBased on a variety of techniques, criteria for the subjective effect of noise produced by aircraft are derived for both indoor and outdoor situations. These criteria are expressed in the two most popular measures used on the North American continent: the Composite Noise Rating and the Noise Exposure Forecast. The criteria are then compared with past suggested values for the ambient noise level.
