AbstractInvestigations are now being directed to the improvement of the structural aspects of conventional roof frame construction. Preliminary steps are made towards the rationalization of frame design and construction which together with possible future work may lead to the design of frames by normal engineering methods. Such a goal becomes increasingly desirable as the use of performance rather than specification-type building codes continues to grow.
