AbstractThis paper clarifies fundamental ion transfer mechanisms in unsaturated concrete. It describes transport mechanisms using well-established mathematical procedure. The first part addresses the process of moisture transport in unsaturated porous material. The second part of the paper deals with the couple transport of ions and moisture in the system.
