AbstractThis report presents a description of damage functions which have been proposed over the years by various researchers. Because of the widespread use of galvanizing as a mean of protection against corrosion in the building envelope, the report presents damage functions for zinc and steel only. This report also presents an assessment of the damage functions by comparing the various functions together in terms of the predicted effect of important atmospheric corrosion parameters such as pollutant level, time-of-wetness,precipitation pH, and the effect of sheltering.
