SubjectSnow and Ice loads
AbstractRoofs in Canada are exposed to a wide variety of structural and climatic stresses: from snow loads and driving rainstorms to summer sun and winter chills, our technology must stand up to nature's extremes. And the stresses show: roofing costs constitute a full 30 per cent of all building maintenance costs. In such a climate, knowing when and how to repair roofs for the most cost-sensitive and durable result can be a tough call to make.
