AbstractThe durability of concrete structures can be defined as their ability to sustain the serviceability for which they were designed. Today's practicing engineer therefore, pays particular attention to the types of deterioration that could threaten preserving the designed function of a structure. The complexities involved in current designs, the proliferation of new materials and services and hygienic requirements however, make the design engineer's job demanding.
