AbstractSnow and ice problems in logging have been the subject of several studies in Scandinavia in recent years. The aim of this paper is to review the results of some of these studies and to consider the application of these results to Canadian conditions. The author wishes to stress that the results reported from the Swedish investigations are preliminary. The investigations have just been completed and final reports are still being prepared. The studies have been sponsored by the Research Foundation SDA, The Forest Research Institute of Sweden and the Swedish Army.
