AbstractThis paper examines the frost resistance of mortars prepared at w(c+sf) of 0.60 without entrained air. The frost resistance was found to be greatly improved by the addition of 10 per cent silica fume. This was due to increases in pore volume in the 1-20 mm diameter size range.
