AbstractThe Soil Mechanics Section of the Division of Building Research looks forward to developing work in the field of electro-kinetic phenomena in connection with soil properties. The subject is a specialized one but appears to have special importance in relation to some of the fine grained soils which are so commonly found in Canada. Literature on the subject is scarce and for this reason the publication of this translation is especially welcome.
