AbstractA procedure was developed for assessing the sound security of rooms that need to be ?speech secure' so that it is difficult or impossible for eavesdroppers outside the room to understand or even hear speech from a meeting room. The procedure is capable of detecting weaknesses in individual components of the sound insulation of a room and accounts for direct transmission through walls and floor-ceilings, and sound transmission via alternate such as ventilation ducts or through weak components such doors.
