AbstractLog construction, once extensively used by Canadian builders, declined greatly in use but in recent years a renewed interest in such construction has developed. Technical, economic and social aspects of the original decline in use of log construction are discussed and a comparison is made of log and frame buildings with particular reference to heating and insulation.
