AbstractProblems involving heat transfer between the ground and engineering constructions of various kinds can be very difficult. The heat flows involved are frequently three-dimensional and quite variable in rate. There are many other possible complicating factors. The results of this study, in which it was possible to make some comparison of the model data to the full-scale tests, are now reported.
