AbstractLiterature in the field of illuminating engineering is critically examined in terms of validation and extension of a suprathreshold visual performance model proposed in a companion paper (see: NRCC-27170). It is concluded that very few such studies can be used to assess or advance a visual performance model owing to problems with procedure and measurement. Recommendations are made for future studies of visual performance.
