AbstractThis report focuses on the purchase of stationery items for the National Research Council (NRC) as a whole, and more specifically for the Institute for Marine Dynamics (IMD). Distinctions were made between purchasing from the local market as opposed to purchasing from a national supplier known as Grand & Toy. Before January 1995 IMD ordered its staionery supplies from local companies. Since then, however, a contract has been put into place that requires purchasing from a supplier that doesn't have a physical presence in the Maritimes.
