AbstractAnalysis of ice sheet failure due to indentor contact at the ice edge is presented. The indentor is flat, with an angle a varying about an axis parallel to the ice edge. Two indentors, which make simultaneous contact, are also considered. The stress distribution in the ice sheet due to the applied forces is calculated, and the ice sheet failure is studied by applying a suitable ice failure criterion.
