AbstractA temporary photometer station was established in the summer of 1967 on the belcher Islands, Hudson Bay, to study auroral phenomena at a point as near as possible to the geomagnetic conjugate of Byrd, Antarctica. The practical details of planning, establishing, and operating the station, difficulties encountered and solutions found are described.
