AbstractThe application of the omegatron, which operates on the cyclotron principle, to mass spectrometry is well known. Investigation of the effects of electric and magnetic field inhomogeneities has lead to improvement of the practical resolving power. Some data on the nature of the background ion current are included. Construction details of an omegatron which is useful up to mass 100 are given.
