AbstractThe stripping of lake bottom silts from the Hogarth and "G" ore bodies at Steep Rock Lake, by hydraulic dredging, is to be carried out in two stages. The initial stage, now almost complete, involves the stripping of 50 million cubic yards from the area of Hogarth Mine. The barrier is a slope cut in the varved clay south of the Hogarth Mine, dividing the two stages. The purpose of this report is to discuss the results of the triaxial tests in relation to the safety of the barrier.
