AbstractAlthough the foundation failure of the Transcona grain elevator occured as long ago as 1913, the conditons involved have since frequently been discussed in connection with soil mechanics problems. It is the purpose of this paper to correlate the data on the foundation failure of the Transcona Grain Elevator with a recently completed field and laboratory soil mechanics investigation using the latest analytical methods.
