AbstractCandidate retrofit light sources are typically evaluated partly in terms of their luminous efficacies relative to the sources they are to replace. This may involve comparing photometric measurements collected under sources with different spectral composition. Errors in such measurements could occur if the photometer relative spectral responsivity does not exactly match the spectral luminous efficiency of the human eye. This note reports the extent of photometric errors observed when comparing different compact fluorescent sources against incandescent ones.
