AbstractAircraft operators in the north country are frequently requested to carry canoes for the purpose of delivering them to some remote lake or river. This form of transportation offers so many advantages that it has become common practice to use aircraft for this purpose. The doubt expressed by a number of operators concerning the effect of the canoe on the all-round performance of the aircraft made it very desirable to investigate this question in the wind tunnel. It was intended that the tests should also reveal the best way in which to carry the canoe.
