AbstractSome guidelines for calculating the design heat requirements of embedded snow melting systems are presented for Canadian conditions. Design heat calculations are made for selected urban centres in Canada based on an analysis of snow storms and weather conditions at these locations. The calculations are adjusted for site and operating conditions to obtain design heat loads for these urban centres.
