AbstractThe report describes the instruments and the current methods used in the Snow-Cover Survey which has been conducted in Canada since 1946. It is a revision of National ResearchCouncil of Canada, Division of Mechanical Engineering, Reports MM-192 and MM-202. Some general information concerning snow and a nomenclature for snow are given. The report also includes the ?Tentative Snow Classification? proposed by a committee of the International Association of Hydrology.
