AbstractThis report briefly describes a two-dimensional transient computational fluid dynamics model for compartment fire simulations. The model is based on the numerical control volume solution of the governing partial differential equations for mass, momentum and energy conservation and it models fire as a heat and mass source. The governing equations are solved over a boundary-fitted coordinate system which allows the application of the model to rooms with complex geometrics.
