The Top Fifty : Principal Canadian Construction R&D Performers and Funders : An Inventory Compiled by the Institute for Research in Construction by Revay and Associates Limited

  1. (PDF, 4 MB)
AbstractThis is a basic "Who's Who" of leading construction R&D organizations in Canada, in terms of resources. The national survey conducted in 1983 and reported in Construction RD&D in Canada provided the first comprehensive overview of the subject in a decade. "Construction" and "RD&D" were broadly defined as the entire range of activities in the construction process, throughout a project's life cycle. Most such activities are initiated by manufacturers and their associations, by research and educational institutions, by owners and by public agencies. The on-site segment of the construction sector and the allied design professions are responsible for many innovations, but relatively little in the way of formal research.
