AbstractIn an age marked by increasing emphasis on sustainability, durability and energy efficiency, garden roofs are gaining in popularity in North America. These specialized roof systems provide a touch of greenery in our urban environments and at the same time achieve better thermal performance than traditional roofs. They also retard and reduce water run-off, contributing to storm water management in the urban area.
