AbstractEquations were developed to predict the time required before a toxic effect is observed in a living body exposed to air containing a toxic gas or a mixture of toxic gases. Values for the constants in the equations for CO and HCN were calculated from data on animal experiments found in literature. The predicted times were compared with times from experiments where the concentration of toxic gases was varied with time.
