AbstractTwo types of open-web steel joists have been designed for the same span and the same loading conditions. The first type of joist was made of hot-rolled steel shapes. Cold-formed steel was used for construction of the second type. The effect of this difference on the behaviour of joists exposed to fire, is investigated in this experimental study.
