AbstractRequests for information on electrically conducting floors for hospital operating rooms directed the attention of the Division to this special flooring problem and to the need for research. Most of the common flooring materials are not sufficiently conducting as normally used, and must be modified through the use of additives such as carbon back which are incorporated during manufacture. Conductive terrazzo, which must be manufactured in place, presents special problems and has been the subject of special studies. This report which is one of several in preparation, describes the results obtained with certain modifications which were introduced in the manufacture of conductive terrazzo in the laboratory.
