AbstractThe foundation problems of the National Museum Building in Ottawa, Canada have interested engineers since 1910 when, after much difficulty, the structure was completed. One of the functions of the Division of Building Research of the National Research Council is to investigate building problems in Canada. Recently, the Division was given the opportunity of studying the foundation conditions of this interesting structure. This is a summary report of the results of the study.
