AbstractThe NRC Institute for Research in Construction (NRC-IRC), part of the National Research Council of Canada, is a leader in research and technology support for the construction industry, in areas including building envelope, fire safety, the indoor environment, and energy management. This article summarizes some current initiatives and others recently completed that promise to have a positive influence on the operation, performance and safety of buildings, and on the comfort and satisfaction of occupants.
