AbstractThe treatment of frost-susceptible soils with waste sulphite liquor has been shown to be reasonably successful. Its effectiveness has been attributed to the change in moisture permeability brought about by a greater viscosity in the pore fluid and its dispersant action when mixed with soil which results in a greater density and hence a lower permability.
