AbstractWe demonstrate the heterodyne detection of two CO2 laser signals offset in frequency up to 82.16 GHz using a multiple quantum well intersubband infrared photodetector. The high frequency is reached by down conversion using the detector itself as a microwave or millimeter-wave mixer.
