AbstractIn this work, electron quality conversion factors, K'R50, for both a cylindrical ion chamber and a parallel plate ion chamber are measured for electron beam energies of 6, 9, 12, 16, and 20 MeV, using a water calorimeter. The photon-electron conversion factor, k ecal, for the cylindrical chamber is derived from calorimetry measurements in 60 Co. The purpose of this work is to experimentally verify the accuracy of values included in current dosimetry protocols.
