AbstractThe circumstances, rescue operations, snow and weather conditions, and avalanche data of 49 avalanche accidents in Canada are described. Skiers, mountain climbers, snowmobile operators, workers, and various structures were involved. Statistics of avalanche accidents in Canada from 1978 to 1985 are included.
