AbstractIn recent months the Seismological Division of the Dominion Observatory has received many letters asking about earthquake risks in various parts of Canada. This interest undoubtedly reflects the fact that architects and engineers have become aware of the existence of earthquake risks through the National Building Code of Canada. The new Code, issued in 1953 by the National Research Council, makes provision for the forces due to earthquakes, and includes an Earthquake Probability map.
