AbstractThe performance of heat pumps has been evaluated from the installation practice and reliability viewpoint. The heat pumps are commercially available units installed by local contractors in homes built in the Ottawa region during the period between June 1978 and May 1982. Eighteen installations were monitored in 1981-82 and 23 in 1982-83. Over the two year monitoring period, 0.54 corrective actions per unit year were required.
