AbstractIn this Chapter the reader is conducted on a gentle cruise through the green and pleasant land of mechanistic radical chemistry. My love of chemistry arrived with a bang (potassium metal + water) and I was already enamored by “how fast?”. These two loves combined at the NRC as I helped to convert radical chemistry from a tarry, black art, into clean, practical, useful, predictable and comprehensible chemistry.
