AbstractThis paper reports 13C chemical shifts for 20 methylgermanium compounds. These shifts are correlated against (i) the electronegativity of halogen in the Me3GeX compounds, (ii) the calculated charge on the carbon atom, (iii) the 1H shifts of the methyl protons, and (iv) the 13C shifts for the analogous carbon, silicon, and tin compounds.
