AbstractThe program presented in this paper evaluates the coefficients of a set of z-transfer functions that are equivalent to the Laplace transfer functions D/B, 1/B, A/B, A/C, 1/C and D/C. These z-transfer functions relate to the z-transforms of the surface temperatures and heat fluxes in the same way as their counterpart Laplace transfer functions relate to expressions given in the paper. The program will evaluate z-transfer functions that are exact for either a unit step input, a ramp type input or a periodic input with specified harmonic components. The user can choose, therefore, the option that best suits a particular problem.
