AbstractThe Division of Building Research has recently co-operated with the Canadian Government Specifications Board in a revision of its specification for unlined forestry fire hose and the preparation of a new one for lined hose. The objective of this work was to ascertain whether the specifications are sufficiently severe to distinguish between good and bad products, and to ensure that, in so doing, they do not disqualify all, or nearly all, hose in current production.
