AbstractA computer system is used to assist the self-boring pressuremeter and piezocone penetrometer for in situ testing. The computer serves as a data logger, data processor and controller of experiments through a servo- mechanism designed specifically for this purpose. Software has been written for the entire operation and an interactive mode is incorporated for running the programs. A plotter is used for on-site display of results. The various test types and the engineering parameters that might be obtained are described in this paper.
