AbstractThe Division of Building Research is vitally interested in the building of houses, especially those of wooden frame construction. This is due to the extensive use of wooden frames in Canada, as illustrated by the fact that 4 out of 5 homes employ this type of structure. Central Mortgage and Housing Corporation, Canada's federal housing agency, estimates that 90% of the dwellings constructed under their jurisdication are of wooden frame construction.
