AbstractThe new Field Exposure of Wall Facility (FEWF) offers opportunities for the characterization of the hygrothermal performance of innovative wall and window systems. Researchers can examine the comparative response of side-by-side wall specimens subjected simultaneously to naturally fluctuating outdoor climate and to controlled indoor conditions of temperature, relative humidity and air pressure defined by occupancy and HVAC systems. IRC building envelope researchers are seeking partnership with public and private agencies to generate new knowledge on sustainable innovative approaches to wall and window design.
