AbstractA study has been conducted to investigate the design and improvements of ice capable fishing vessels of the East Coast Deep Sea Stern Trawler Fleet. The fleet's most modern type vessel was chosen as the study model, and several ice transiting/breaking bows faired into its lines, in an attempt to increase the vessel's efficiency in the new area of operation.
