AbstractLamination cracks, a common fault in brick formed by stiff- mud extrusion, are believed to affect adversely the strength and durability of brick. A method is described for measuring the extent of lamination in brick involving the use of a map-measure to track and record the length of the lamination cracks appearing on a sawn brick surface.
