AbstractFour methods of calculating solar radiation incident on tilted surfaces from global horizontal solar radiation are assessed. The calculated hourly solar radiation on south- and north-oriented vertical surfaces is compared with actual measured values. In addition, diffuse solar radiation distribution assumptions are examined by comparing the isotropic and anisotropic distribution models.
