AbstractThe need to replace men with machines and other equipment in support of an increasing standard of living means that more and more routine operational, supervisory and control tasks must be automated. The work of the mechanical contractor which once required much manufacturing on-site will shift to assembly and installation and will require a corresponding shift in the skills employed.
