AbstractThe heat loss associated with air leakage through the enclosure of a typical detached house may be as much as 40 percent of the total heat loss. It is essential, therefore, to be able to estimate this component of the heating load with reasonable precision. This paper describes a series of tests conducted on six wood-frame houses which established rates of overall air leakage and leakage through windows, doors, walls and ceilings, separately.
