AbstractElectrically-charged particles called air ions which possess various electrical and physical properties are present in the atmosphere in amounts that change due to atmospheric and other conditions. The artificial production of air ions in buildings is described and the results of studies of the effects of air ions on human comfort and health are reviewed.
